2018 Domaine Guiberteau, ‘Clos de Guichaux’, Bizay Monopole, Saumur Blanc, Loire Valley 1.5 L

Called “the Clos Rougeard for a new generation,” Romain Guiberteau took back control of his family’s holdings in the late 90’s and has quickly established himself as a new benchmark producer in the Loire Valley. With vineyards centered around the famous hill of Brézé, Romain works several monopole sites which showcase true terroir through Saumur’s Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc grapes. 

A magnum of wine from the Clos de Guichaux monopole holding, where Chenin is planted in soft limestone soils, and sees elevage in old wood barrels.
