2021 Phelan Farm, ‘Autrement’ (Gamay, Mondeuse, Pinot Noir), San Luis Obispo County, California

The 2021 Autrement is a bright pleasantly rustic blend of 40% Gamay 30% Mondeuse and 30% Pinot Noir. It has a medium ruby color and is loaded with spicy aromas of tree bark, leather, tobacco, bitter citrus and pepper complementing a core of sour cherries. The medium-bodied palate is chalky and energetic with generous spicy fruit and a long finish.
